Welcome to AIS interventions, where we are dedicated to your success.
(H2)
When we
say we are dedicated to your success, we mean we
are dedicated to a successful intervention outcome for your
family member or loved one. AIS is a team of professional interventionists
whom have extensive knowledge and experience working with the addicted
population. Not only is our intervention team professionally acquainted
with the addiction problem today,
all of us have had our own personal battles with addiction. We KNOW
what it takes to make recovery from addiction a reality. Making the
intervention process one of love and compassion is
one of our main goals. These are qualities that are indispensable when
trying to reach someone in the grips of an addiction
Behavioral
interventions in todays society.
Today,
interventions are used in many different circumstances. Originally used
primarily for alcohol and drug addiction, Interventions are now commonly
sought out for all types of compulsive behaviors. Intervention services
are known to be
90% successful in getting the afflicted person to enter treatment or
a self help group. It is this reason that interventions are used
for such problems as: sex addiction, gambling addiction, shopping addiction,
eating disorders, drug and alcohol addiction or abuse, behavioral problems
and compulsions, self mutilation, workaholism, video game addiction,
and several other behavioral addictions.
The aim
of any behavioral intervention is to help the addicted person to see
reality. When someone is in the depths of an addiction, their
thoughts, behaviors and perception of reality is clouded in rationalization,
denial and fear. It is denial that allows this insidious behavior to
continue despite the negative consequences to themselves and others
around them. Breaking through denial is the intervention specialist
top priority. Family
and loved ones are paramount during this process.
The
systemic family intervention.
The systemic
family intervention process is the #1 drug intervention of choice by
AIS intervention specialists. There is nothing more powerful than the
family reuniting in the spirit of
love and compassion. This is even more effective when close friends
are invited to participate. When utilizing family and
friends, this takes the focus off the addicted individual and puts emphasis
on the need for the entire family to make changes.
Often when there are addiction problems, the family unit becomes broken
and sick. A family intervention focuses not only on the recovery of
the addicted person, but the recovery of the family
as a hole.
We put
great emphasis on treating the addicted person with
dignity and respect. The nature of addiction is to leave the
addict with an overall feeling worthlessness, hopelessness,
and fear. It is our goal during a behavioral intervention to help
bring hope back to their life and empower them to make a
change. In most cases this involves offering a treatment
center that specializes in the particular addiction at hand.
The
A.R.I.S.E Addiction Intervention Model
The A.R.I.S.E.
addiction intervention model is also frequently
used by AIS intervention specialists. The ARISE Intervention
is directed towards getting the addicted loved one into treatment with
the least possible effort through a loving, compassionate
and non-blaming approach. The family and friends support
system is utilized to form a committed intervention, and help motivate
the addicted person into treatment. This first phase
has three levels, and the goal is to stop at the first level that works.
1. "The
First Call", starts when a Concerned Other calls a
Certified ARISE Interventionist for a free phone consultation,
and is coached to set up the First Meeting of the Intervention Network.
56% of addicted individuals enter treatment at Level 1.
2. "Strength in Numbers", begins If they have not entered
treatment during Level 1. The Intervention Network acts as
a Board of Directors, so no one deals one-on-one with the
addicted individual. By the end of 2 to 5 Intervention Network meetings,
80% of addicted individuals have entered treatment.
3. "The Formal ARISE Intervention", is held if treatment entry
has not occurred during Level 2. At this meeting serious consequences
are put in place if the addicted individual does
not enter treatment. By this point, 83% of addicted individuals have
entered treatment.
Phase 2:
Support your Loved One through Treatment and into Recovery begins when
the addicted individual enters treatment. The goals are individual and
family healing and recovery. It
includes the family and individual becoming involved in 12-step program.
The Certified ARISE Interventionist works collaboratively with the addicted
individual, the treatment center, and the family to ensure treatment
completion. Relapse prevention, and the resolution of grief and other
problems that are at the root of the pain and the addictive disease
are just a few of the treatment goals.
Phase 3:
Living in Recovery focuses on the Certified ARISE Interventionist working
with the Intervention Network (family
and friends) and addicted individual to prevent relapse, initiate long-term
recovery, and complete the work towards family
healing and recovery. This includes ensuring that work, life
style, social circle, family relationships and personal decisions
made for personal growth in Phase 2 are happening for individual and
family. It is a collaborative effort made on all parts to see
the recovery process through.
